Valentini and Love Letters
Happy Valentine's Day! It's a true day for celebration over here at On Point! I love love, all things pink, and beyond that, it is my wedding anniversary with my darling husband. When we launched On Point we had this discussion of "We should celebrate somehow..." that went on for a bit, and then it occurred to me we should have a PARTY! I plan and design parties for goodness sakes, of course we should have a party. So obvious. And, around Valentine's day, nonetheless, as "love is
in the details" is our thing.
We decided on a Valentini Party, where we'd serve martini's and have desserts, and we invited family and some friends - all whom have been supportive of our new business venture, and are our "brand evangelists" as my husband called them. It really was a lovely time.
All parties start with the invitations. At least from the guest point of view. Invitations can make the best first impression, which is why I'm also a stickler about what that impression is. These were stunning. Designed by She Designs, whom recommended the most amazing paper for them. They felt smooth and buttery, rubbery almost. And the design was seriously on point. Do you see my logo exploding with hearts? That is how I feel about event design and working with people in this arena. Exploding with love. I've been looking at these invitations for over a month now, and I'm still smitten with them. I always love to match the envelope design to the cards as well. I want people excited when mail from an On Point event shows up in their hands before it is even opened!
Alright. so beyond the invitations, I had a ton of fun designing this party.
The desserts included Tuxedo Brownie cups (made by my Grandma - she is an expert at them), chocolate covered strawberries I had made with an adorable accent heart, cheesecake bites and cookies from Something Sweet that matched the party design and invitations perfectly. I wanted a salty option, so we also had 3 popcorn options on the dessert bar, which was such a hit!
We also had a cheese plate, because who doesn't love cheese? Not only do people seem to love cheese, it looked so pretty. I loved the detail of the labels. Skewering them on heart toothpicks reminded me of cupids arrows.
Across from the kitchen is our living room, so incorporating design elements for the party into each room was important.
I couldn't find garland that matched as well as I had wanted, so I strung my own, and it was well worth it. I even punched hearts out of some left over invitations I had to tie in the color, texture and even the look of the confetti seen on the invites.
I made the same garland for the martinis table, which was set up in our dining room. The room was adorned with these LOVE letters. My husband and I inflated them the evening prior to the party, and our kids were ecstatic to wake up to them hanging as they came down the stairs the next morning. They also loved the selfie props!
It was a really fun evening full of all things love, celebrating On Point. My husband and I, (but mostly him) gave a speech thanking everyone for their support and love as I've stated this adventure! I am sure a blessed girl. And now I've got beautiful flowers and a couple of lingering desserts for the celebration of our marriage on this perfect day celebrating love!
Happy Valentine's day, ya'll.
Xoxo,
Brittany
