Let the Adventure Begin!

This blog title is appropriate in so many ways. For this baby shower, for this business, for this New Year... All the things. Let the adventure begin! But for real, this was such a fun theme for a baby shower. Motherhood hands down must be the craziest, most exciting, slightly terrifying, absolutely wonderful "adventure" a person could embark on! So, because of all of that, a party theme was born! Take a look at the party below. You'll see love in each and every detail for this shower I created for my dear friend!

I love to use decorations that can then be gifted - I thought this printable I found was STUNNING, and would be perfect in a nursery. So this was for the mommy-to-be, and added the perfect design element to the gift table! Also, you'll see that wrapping paper was used throughout the design - I scored that and then cut it apart and used it in many of the design elements. I love using wrapping paper for so many things outside of wrapping. Keep a look out and you'll see it used in many other places/ways!

I was so excited to use these mugs for the coffee station. My husband and I collect them from Starbucks as we travel around the world, and using each one brings memories of places we have been. In the mornings, when I get a cup out of the cupboard for my morning chai, I always feel like I am picking my adventure, if you will. I almost always go for Paris, because, well, it is Paris. These mugs could not have been a more perfect addition.

Little donuts just had to make their home next to the coffee. Who doesn't want a tiny little cake covered in frosting or powdered sugar (which we have convinced ourselves is "breakfast") with their coffee? Next up, Mimosas. Which do not have to be confined to OJ. White Grape Cherry juice and Champagne? Heck Yes! Pineapple Orange Apple juice and Champagne? Yes please. Plain Jane OJ and Champagne? Yup, I'll have one of those, too.

Here is that same wrapping paper, cut apart and as adornment for the drink cups. I've swooned many times over the outcome. I had so much fun working through the perfect detail for these cups, and they turned out super adorable. For the cups without the globes, I made little paper flags for their straws.

When my husband found out that I was doing this party theme, he was so excited to tell me about a vintage travel shop in the Seattle Airport he had passed by many times, full of cool travel themed items and maps. He had the chance to be traveling through there a few weeks before the event and picked up this large map below. Isn't that just so thoughtful and sweet, and wasn't it just the perfect addition to the party?

Above and below show the activities we did at the shower. We kept it simple, with not-your-typical shower activities. Guessing the baby's birthday is something I almost always do (with a prize sent to the winner!), and coloring the alphabet to be made into a book for the momma-to-be was just fun all around. People got to sit around, eat some goodies, drink mimosas, chat and color. Sounds like a perfect Sunday morning, in my book.

After thinking of the perfect party theme, I always reach out to my girl at SHE Designs to help me with the perfect invitation.

After a little collaboration, this invitation was born! They turned out so cute and can be found (and purchased!) here -https://www.etsy.com/shop/SHEDESIGNSinc

I'll leave you with the same note I left the party guests with - Thanks for visiting - Happy Trails! Now if only I could hand you one of these cute bags filled with trail mix as you exit. :)

Xoxo,

Brittany
