Celebrate: a New Year

Happy New Year!

Each year for New Year's Day, we celebrate with family and fondue, so continuing that tradition was a given for us for our New Year's Celebration. As many people see the New Year as a year of possibility and opportunity, I always contemplate if I even really like the hype that comes with the occasion. I feel like each day, holiday or not, should be used as a fresh start, an opportunity to try to something new, a reason to take a leap of faith. But I supposed if the New Year encourages such, that is just as good. This year we had both my parents and my husband's parents over for our celebration, and in addition to the New Year, we revealed a surprise to our kids that we ALL will be going to Disney together shortly to celebrate their birthdays. SO FUN. Following our cheese fondue and chocolate fountain we watched the Bronco's win, so really all around it was a stellar day.

The wine, sparkling cider (my kids favorite) and all of that chocolate and cheese has me wishing I was indulging once again.

Oh, and how amazing are these cookies we got for the special announcement? Seriously, they couldn't have been more perfect. And delicious. I want one right now. Which would be fine if I hadn't already eaten them all...

Cheers, and Happy New Year!

About the decor: This was such simple party decor, and I think it came together perfectly. I wanted a bit of color instead of the typical black and gold, and the color confetti added just the perfect touch. White fabric with printed gold confetti under basic butcher paper that I made into a runner and place mats, color confetti and my gold drinkware adorned the table. A gold "CELEBRATE" sign was perfect for this occasion and added just enough sparkle. All in all, this was very inexpensive. As always, the love was in the details, and it was just an adorable little set up!
